Mr. Z Says

January 12, 2010

COUPONS – VOUCHERS – GIFT CERTIFICATES
PLEASE READ THEM CAREFULLY

In today’s economy these offers are more popular than ever and selling them online at social websites is the new marketing craze.

Felix & Oscar’s participates with some of these websites, these offers are a good way to attract new visitors and a nice way to thank our regular guests.  Because there are so many websites with different offers we want you to understand how these work.  Every business you see on these websites has signed a contract with the website and has agreed to follow certain terms and conditions.  By the same token, when you purchase an offer you agree to follow the terms and conditions listed on that offer. Here is what we want to avoid, I received an e-mail (from a customer that had a certificate stating that we add a 15% gratuity) and they were upset because and I quote “We were forced to pay a gratuity”, what nonsense, this person looks foolish and is admitting that they did not read the offer.

We hope you will visit these new websites and take advantage of the offers you will find but, remember what Mr. Z says...

PLEASE READ THEM CAREFULLY!

At Felix & Oscar’s, pizza is our passion, and it is best served piping hot from the oven directly to your table. You may ask, “can a take-out or delivered pizza have the same flavor?”

Yes! And it is easy to do.

Step 1: When you order your pizza for take-out or delivery, tell us not to cut your pizza. An uncut pizza will stay hotter and travel better because the cheese, sauce, and toppings can’t run between the slices.

Step 2: After you’ve placed your order, preheat your oven to 350°.

Step 3: When your pizza arrives, place it in the appropriate pan and onto the middle rack of your oven. Chicago-style Deep Dish pan pizzas should be placed on a solid pizza tray or cookie sheet. Thin crust pizzas should be placed on a perforated pizza tray.

After a few minutes, you can serve your pizza, piping hot, from the oven to your table.

Enjoy!

Mr. Z

Yes, that really is what people call me.

I have been here at Felix & Oscar’s from the beginning, April 21, 1975. Over the years I have spent my time in our kitchen, and as a result my contact with our guests has been limited (I think the staff prefers it that way). But now, thanks to computers, websites, and e-mail, I will no longer be a kitchen “shut-in.”

I will be the first to admit that I am not great with computers. In fact, a young member of our staff said to me, “Mr. Z, you’re blogging?” I said, “I guess so.” When they left the office I looked to see if my fly was open.

In this space I will touch on many different topics, and I welcome your comments or questions about anything pertaining to Felix & Oscar’s. While I am very opinionated, I have never claimed to have all the answers, so if you have any of those please send them along, too. I will respond to as many e-mails as possible. You may reach me at mrz@felixandoscars.com.
